New Jersey’s Dover Middle School was evacuated on Oct 17 morning following a bomb scare.
Town public safety director Richard Rosell said that immediately after the school received the bomb threat over the phone at 11:02 am, students and staff were told to leave the building.
The Morris County bomb squad, the county K-9 unit, the county Criminal Investigations Division and the fire department searched the premises but found no explosives.
During this scare, the school spent the time outside on the bleachers in the athletic area but teaching was resumed after 1 pm.
Rosell said students and staff had an evacuation plan to be followed in an emergency by going to a certain location and await further instructions.
